I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
